Biography
Maura Sweeney is a mission-driven career and executive coach focused on helping you thrive at work. She believes happy, fulfilled professionals foster high-performing teams and produce top-quality work. She is committed to helping you understand what matters most, discover your authentic voice, and confidently overcome obstacles.
For over ten years, Maura has helped hundreds of people navigate transitions to find greater fulfillment at work and in life. As an executive coach, she partners with non-profit leaders to discover solutions and strategies to achieve their goals. She loves helping them go from “I have no clue” to “I know what I want to do.”
Maura employs an experiential and reflection-focused approach to her work as a coach. She values the power of experimentation to help you explore new tactics and ideas. The best solutions are found when you create space for reflection, discernment, and growth. Her coaching is grounded on ancient wisdom, positive psychology, systems theories, behavioral-cognitive coaching, and adult learning theory.
Maura has held progressive leadership roles in higher education and non-profits, spanning alumni engagement, career development, and recruiting. She earned her B.A. in French from the College of the Holy Cross, her M.Ed. in Adult and Organizational Learning from Northeastern University, and her Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from William James College. She is an ICF Associate Certified Coach, a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, and has a Strong Interest Inventory Certification. She serves on the board of the Alumni Career Services Network and is a member of the International Coaching Federation, Career Counselors Consortium NE, and the Institute of Coaching.
Maura lives in the Boston Metro West area with her spouse, two children, two dogs, and cat.
